More on Colombia...
We have been SO BUSY that I have not even had time to sit down and blog....that was the whole reason for this website! Oh well...I will give a short synopsis of what we have done. :)FIrst off, Bogota is beautiful...there is so mucht to see here and although Colombia is very different from the U.S., in a lot of ways, it is the same. Things here are beautiful because of the history behind them and alot of the most beautiful things to see here are the oldest. I was telling Carlos today that life seems to be lived much simpler here...from what people eat to how they get around the city...its amazing to me! We have visited the Salt Cathedral, the Museum of Gold, Monserrate, Bottero ARt exhibit, local places to eat and shop. Each place was magical and we have plenty of pictures to share if you check out one of our FaceBook pages. We also traveled to Cucuta to visit Carlos' grandma. Cucuta has a very tropical climate (very different from Bogota which is about 65 everyday) and most people have no air conditioning...including Wilita (Grandma)! We really enjoyed ourselved for the 5 days we were there. Carlos' family was so accomodating and we even met some fantastic people who we partied with...they were friends of Carlos' cousin, Juan. This is how small of a world it is: while sitting in the airport to go from Bogota to Cucuta, we met another American named Aaron. He was going to visit someone in Cucuta as an exchange type thing. So we get to Cucuta and guess what? THe friend Aaron was going to visit was one of Juan's (Carlos' cousin) friends! AND Aaron was from Austin!! Craziness. Now we are back in Bogota to enjoy the rest of the stay here in Colombia. I got all my dental work done by Carlos' aunt and her co-worker...honestly I am so GRATEFUL for what they did for me...they saved me THOUSANDS of dollars and gave me the truth and just took care of me! Again...so so grateful! As soon as we get back to the states, we will post more pictures on FaceBook and give descriptions of all the wonderful places we visited. We get back the 14th into Houston late at night...and probably not in Austin until the morning of the 15th. Altough I will be sad for the vacation to end, I will definitely be ready for my own bed, my HOME (I really miss my house), and to see the cats!!
Bogota Colombia
We made it! As usual, getting into town is always very hectic with family so we have not had a chance to post any pictures but I thought I would take a few minutes to give a quick update! We got in three hours late on Tuesday because of bad weather in Miami (awesome). We got to Tio Javier´s place and were shown our accomodations. It is located in a beautiful part of town with several malls and amazing place to eat. There are alot of things here that are actually much more advanced then in the United States...not what I expected. There are alot of other different things as well and I love learning about all of it. We went to a cocktail bar with Carlos´ cousin and his girlfriend then walked around some malls. We stopped by a burger joint called ¨El Corral¨ which was really good! As for the adventure of the night...Carlos and I got yellow fever shots so we could go visit the coast (Tehyrona) and by the way, this was a last minute change to our plans but that is what you do on these types of vacations :) I will post pictures soon...I was pretty scared just being in a different country and hating shots didn't make it better! We also saw Transformers...it was in English but subtitled in Spanish. Speaking of Spanish...I am understanding SSOOO much more...but it's like being a child...you hear it and understand it way before you are able to speak it. I am trying but it is muy dificil...:) We ate lunch today at Tia CoCo's house ...it was delicious! Here people eat large lunches and very small dinners...like tonight we are eating fondue with bread and fruit. They have maids here that cook and clean for you which is very nice and they are treated like part of the family. I also had my dentist appt (Tia CoCo is a dentist) and they are doing such agreat thing for me by fixing all my dental issues :) Well that is all for now. Hopefully tonight or tomorrow morning we will post pictures! Hasta luego!

New Car!
Carlos FINALLY got a brand new car! It was pretty much a HUGE moment...he has never really owned as nice of a car as this and it was adorable seeing him get so excited. As a matter of fact, he is outside figuring out all the settings of his wireless bluetooth and touch activated GPS system :) I am really excited for him and I really feel like he deserves this blessing! It is a manual and because I pay for it too :) I have to learn how to drive a stick....I knew one day it would come and here it is. Now we each have Hondas....yes we are Honda people now....and we love them! I do have to admit Carlos' has way cooler features than mine but we negotiated the terms of a GPS system for myself :) Actually I am the one who really needs it...it's pretty sad that I don't know my way around downtown/south Austin yet :( But I am getting alot more comfortable with North/East Austin :) Anyways, we are very excited about Carlos' new, beautiful CIVIC Si!!!

Introducing...
So we are new to the whole blogging thing but we decided this would be a great time to start one. We are leaving for South America in 6 days and it is a great way for family and friends to see our adventures and pictures along the way! We will try to post as often as possible (hopefully everyday) and hope that it is enjoyed by all :)
As for right now the only things new are that I (Jess) got my cast off from my cyst surgery and now I am trying to get my wrist to function again. I won't lie, it is painful but it is necessary. The scar is the biggest one I have ever had...an inch long! Carlos thinks that is hilarious...
Still trying to sell the house...in this market it is just a waiting game I guess. Just keep praying for us and hope that it sells soon and for a reasonable price. :)
